Q5 - What else did God create? | Family Discipleship Tool

NEW CITY CATECHISM QUESTION
What else did God create?

ICE BREAKER
If you could create a new flavor of ice cream or sorbet what flavor would you create and what would you call it?

FAMILY ACTIVITY
Pick one of these two to do as a family.
  1. Have each person in your family make a list of the things in creation that God made. These lists could be drawings or even cut outs of photos or words from magazines. Then as a family create a collage or a cumulative list of all the things you came up with. You could make this a fun game and set a timer for 3-5 minutes (depending on the age of your kids) and see who can come up with the longest list of things God created!

  1. Start with the oldest person in the family. Starting with the letter A name things alphabetically that God created. Go through the alphabet until someone gets stuck (you may even have to start over at the beginning of the alphabet if you get all the way through). When someone gets stuck they are “out” until one person is left standing.

RESPONSE TIME
Ask your family these questions:
  1. How was Jesus present at the creation of the world?
  2. If someone asks you how God could have possibly created the world, what would you say?

PRAY
  1. Thank God for the things that you enjoy that come from Him, and thank Him for the way He created the universe and all that is in it so beautifully.
  2. Ask God to help you see more of Him as you spend time in Creation this week.

OPTIONAL FAMILY ACTIVITY
Use your "Spiritual Imagination!!"  and go outside as a family with a camera or a phone and find things that remind you of who God is. Try and find at least one thing for each member of your family.
