Following Jesus means being good neighbors in our city and around the world. Our local and global partners help us get involved with the real needs of our neighbors. Each partner represents a place where FDC people and resources are partnering with the greater Church.
Local missions partners
“Seek the welfare of the city where I have sent you into exile, and pray to the Lord on its behalf, for in its welfare you will find your welfare.” – Jeremiah 29:7
Our Serve Denver initiative is dedicated to making a tangible impact in our local community. We believe in the power of local engagement and the importance of being the hands and feet of Jesus right here in Denver. Here are some of our local missions partners.

save our youth
Save Our Youth helps the church mentor at-risk youth. There’s a huge gap in our city between children who desire mentors (often because they don’t have both a mother and father at home) and people willing to mentor. The “demand” far outpaces the “supply.” Save Our Youth helps fill this gap! We invite “FDC” congregants to mentor these kids, which enriches the life of the mentor and mentee. We also partner with SOY each July to provide backpacks & school supplies for their mentees.
hope in our city
Hope in Our City is a locally based non-profit that serves refugee and impoverished families through educational and mentorship programs, offering supplementary programs to holistically strengthen families. Founded by long-time FDC members, Jordan & Katie Fischer, their most recent endeavor is a Christian school, Reign Christian Academy.
grant beacon
middle school
Grant Beacon is a middle school near our South Broadway location in the Platt Park neighborhood. Our Student Ministry hosts a food drive twice a year to fill their food pantry and helps support families in need.
Safe families
for children
crosspurpose
denver institute for
faith and work
Safe Families is a faith-based non-profit that mobilizes churches like ours to advocate for vulnerable children and socially isolated families throughout our city. When you volunteer with Safe Families, you create an opportunity where children can be safe and families remain unified.
CrossPurpose is a community-building and career training non-profit we partner with to help lift folks out of poverty. Our church has the opportunity to go through the program as a Leader, serve as an Ally (Mentor), help with mock interviews and more.
Denver Institute prepares people to serve God and others in their daily work so that workplaces and cities are transformed. They host life-giving events like Women, Work & Calling and Business for the Common Good. They offer groups and programs such as the 5280 Fellowship and Peer Learning Groups.
open door ministries
ODM has served the city of Denver since 1984. Their mission is to address poverty, build communities, and cultivate followers of Christ in Denver. Individual and group volunteer opportunities are available.
the cell church
The Cell Church is a Colorado prison ministry founded and led by Mark Walker, a long-time “FDC” member. They are committed to identifying, discipling, mentoring, educating and supporting God-gifted current and former prisoners, equipping and empowering them for Christian ministry.

Acts 29 Europe
Acts 29 Europe exists to facilitate and catalyze church-planting efforts across the continent. They are currently 96 churches (partners and candidates). This represents significant growth for the Network in a continent which is, in many regions, less than 1% evangelical.
Alyssa Alderman
Alyssa, an FDC member, serves on Young Life’s Foundation Engagement Team, which focuses on developing and sustaining high-impact relationships with charitable organizations to fuel the work of Young Life worldwide. Young Life’s mission since 1941 is to introduce teenagers to Jesus and help them grow in their faith. The ministry currently operates in 112 countries and impacts nearly three million young people.
Central Paris
Church Plant
Fellowship Denver is supporting a new church plant forming in the 5th & 6th arrondissements of Paris, home to the city’s major universities and student populations. The church planting pastor is Philip Moore.
James & Lisa
Dougherty
Fellowship Associates
GO on the Mission
OMF is a global fellowship of thousands of Christians focused on sharing Jesus with East Asian peoples. After serving in East Asia for many years, James and Lisa Dougherty now live in Denver, Colorado and serve as President and Co-National Directors of OMF in the U.S. They partner with churches to mobilize, send and support missionaries in sharing the good news. James and Lisa have been members of Fellowship Denver since 2011 and serve FDC as our Global Missions Deacons.
Fellowship Associates is a year-long training residency for pastors who are planting churches. It allows entrepreneurial leaders who know they’ve been called to the directional leadership of a new church plant to take their first steps toward doing so while being coached and encouraged every step of the way. We support FA because we believe in the work they do and one of our founding pastors, Hunter Beaumont, participated in the residency before planting Fellowship Denver Church.
Our congregants have the opportunity to sponsor students at John Huffman School in Thies, Senegal, which helps children break the cycle of poverty by providing a great education that sets them up for a life of good work and self-sufficiency. GO on the Mission is our connecting agency. They coordinate the sponsorships and have a long-standing relationship with John Huffman School. We hope to plan a trip to Senegal in 2025 to visit the school.
Clare Hickey
Clare, a member of Fellowship Denver Church, moved to West Africa in April of 2023. She has partnered with the existing team there to launch a new area of ministry focused on working with individuals with disabilities and their families. Because this is a unique ministry, the specifics of her role are being established over time as relationships are built. She hopes to see God use her to empower individuals with special needs to have an impact for the gospel in a unique way, as well as support and equip families and communities to care well for this population of image-bearers.
India Church Plant
Our church supports a new church plant in Mumbai, which is thriving and bringing the Gospel to a challenging urban landscape in India. Through your prayers and giving, we’ve helped them grow disciples, celebrate baptisms, and expand community groups, all while facing significant cultural and political challenges.
