The Long Plains

The Long Plains is a band that helps lead Sunday morning gatherings for the church. The band is led by Jordan Lucas, an FDC Worship Intern, and is comprised of 6 musicians who are all members of the church. The Long Plains is passionate about creating music that magnifies God’s greatness through a unique take on old hymns and writing original work. Their style leans towards upbeat and electric guitar driven rock with an emphasis on percussion. In contrast to their more upbeat music they also love creating sonic landscapes that are drawn out and filled with reverberated ambient guitars and synthesizers.

The Longs Plains take their name from eastern Colorado’s vast and flat geography. It’s common knowledge around here that Denver is known as “the queen city of the plains” and it’s with this idea in mind that the band wanted to name their project. Their name pays homage to our city as the last stop before entering the Rockies and symbolically captures the end of one type of existence before another begins.
