Mighty Lions Service Project

FD lions

As our Go. Grow. Share. curriculum comes to an end, the Mighty Lions class (2nd + 3rd grades) has chosen to serve our community through a park clean up day.  THIS SUNDAY, October 8th, we will utilize our Sunday class time and the early afternoon to pick up trash and pull weeds at Ruby Hill Park.

Please check in all students as usual on Sunday morning for the 9am service.  All Elementary students will begin class together as is typical.  Students who are unable to participate in the service project and class party will finish out our normal class time with the Leaping Lizards (K - 1st) class.

Following the park clean up, we will come back to my (Ms. Kori's) house, 138 S. Grant St., and have a pizza party and watch the classic movie Mighty Ducks.  The Mighty Lions class has enjoyed their class being referred to as the "Mighty Ducks," so we'll be watching Mighty Ducks (Mighty Ducks is rated PG and contains 3 curse words that will be censored).  For your convenience, we'll be dropping kids off at their homes by 3 pm (although if you'd rather pick them up at my house you are certainly welcome to do so - just let me know the plan).

Please bring:

  • booster seats (if applicable)
  • dress kids in clothes that can get dirty
  • gardening gloves if you have them
  • weather appropriate clothing for outdoors

Don't hesitate to shoot me an email at kori@fellowshipdenver.org if you have any questions.  I'm excited to serve our city with your kiddos - they are simply the coolest!

- Kori
