The Question Group is a safe place to ask hard questions about Christianity.

It’s a taste of how Fellowship Denver started. Back before there was a church, we hosted open forums in coffee shops throughout Denver to discuss Jesus and the story of the Bible. That tradition continues in The Question Group.

Who is the Question Group for?

It’s for anyone who has questions about Christianity and the gospel. It’s a great venue for people who are checking out Christianity. Many longtime followers of Jesus also find it helpful.

What topics are discussed?

Each evening is devoted to 1 big question. Examples include: Can the New Testament Gospels be relied upon as accurate portrayals of the historical Jesus? What about other “gospels” that weren’t included in the New Testament? How could a good, all-powerful God allow evil and suffering to continue? Did Jesus really rise from the dead?

How does the night flow?

Each evening begins with an introduction to the question at hand and a brief presentation. This is followed by an open-mic Q&A session.

Who leads the discussion?

Dave Morlan, a pastor at Fellowship Denver, usually leads the discussion. Dave finished his PhD in New Testament from the University of Durham (northern England) in 2010 and is well-qualified to lead discussions on these issues. In fact, these open forums started accidentally a few years back when Dave kept getting constant questions about the Bible and Jesus from his friends and neighbors.
Follow the discussion here on The Question Group Blog.

Dave also has a great network of respected, nerdy scholar-friends all over the world. So when they’re available or passing through town, we invite them to host. Past guests have included Dr. Craig Blomberg and Dr. Scot McKnight.
